Maureen O'Donoghue Hannon for Circuit Court Judge
Maureen O'Donoghue Hannon is a practicing attorney with 25 years experience. Maureen is endorsed by the Cook County Democratic Party and the Chicago Federation of Labor. Maureen has been found Highly Qualified, qualified or recommended by all of the bar associations to serve as a judge. Maureen has a breadth of experience. For 20 of the last 25 years she has been an Assistant States Attorney in the Civil Actions Bureau. Four years ago, she was appointed as the Supervisor of the Conflicts Counsel Unit, a relatively new unit which represents County defendants in cases with a potential conflict of interest that were formerly sent out to private firms.
Maureen has practiced in most of the divisions of the Circuit Court of Cook County including chancery, probate, county, law, and the municipal division and defended the County from constitutional claims in litigation in federal court. In addition to jury trials in state and federal court, she has argued appeals before the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Maureen has also practiced for three years in the private sector, here in Chicago, she was an associate at the law firm of Burke, Burns & Pinelli, Ltd. and she spent one year at a labor law firm in Washington D.C. which had many of the national unions as clients.
